The Wristband
I was watching some show on television last week when a character compared love to those wristbands that you get at some clubs after paying cover. She said something to the effect that the band is what let's you get back in if you have to step outside for something. She said that love was like that wristband. Once you get it from someone, you can always go back into their lives as long as you want to. Just like that wristband lets you back in the club.
Many a night *or morning* I have come home from a club with that wristband around my wrist and tried to snatch it off. I have sometimes just gone to bed with it still on because it was too hard to get off and I was too lazy to go get my scissors.
I'm wearing someone's band and he is wearing mine. The one i'm wearing is too hard to rip off and I can't find my scissors. And I think that he is in the same situation. The problem is that the club closed back in September. We are both standing in line to get into a new club, but we can't get in because we are still wearing the old wristbands.

That's sad...I'm perplexed why anyone would give up the opportunity of a great time, at a new club, simply to wear the old band. Yes, I do get the analogy and the irony in this...I just don't understand why anyone would relegate themself to a life a yearning and memory-land when the new club can offer all that the old one did and more...your trip to that other club is over...either go back to the old club or stop hanging outside the new club with the old band....it just makes you look pathetic.
Pathetic? Well damn Cocoa! I wasn't expecting such a comment.
But anyway, At this point, I think i'm going back home by myself and taking off this wristband one way or another. I may just give up the clubs for a while.
HMMMMMMMMMM...
oh wow what an analogy!
LOL...I'm sorry pa...guess the Minnie had me a bit frustrated this weekend and I was harder on you than I needed to be...now rip off the fuckin' band and go to a new club soon! ;)
Wow, there are some men walking around with many armbands on their arm. Always hoppin in and out of clubs.
Yeah, it is time to stop going to that played out "club". You don't want to end up being the only person in there.
@Thaddues-What's the HMMMMMM for?
@ShawnQT-I knew I watched that show for a reason. I just wish I could remember which one it was.
@Cocoa-No sweat. I kinda figured that something was bothering you. But I needed to hear that from someone anyway!!!!!!!!!!!
@BPS-If I could just find those dang scissors!!!!
Wow, that is sooo deep! I think that many people try to get rid of their wristbands but often have troule doing so. When they finally get rid if that burdensome band than the new club is no longer there! If that makes sense! I think I just confused myself with these damned metaphors!
(call 911 for wrist removal thugaliciousness services...hmmm...)The things kids go through these days!
Damn Norris...pretty deep post as usual. I may be carrying a brand new wristband soon myself...:-(
I agree with the others. The truth is that the wrist band is only as hard to get off as we make it. You'll find the scissors when you're ready. I hope you're ready, there are to many new more colorful and exciting bands to try on.
that was really something... I want to like repost this on my blog being that i don't have shit to say anyway lol. that's like the best love analogy i've heard...
You know I lives for an anaology...can't say that I've experienced this yet though, or maybe I have and just didn't realize it as such. But yeah...I've never been one to wait in line, or pay a cover, or even pay for drinks...let's get that together...you're too great to spend ur free time struggling with a wristband...luv!!
JB
Damn - what an analogy!!! This could preach, like a sermon. Right before they take in new members they will say, "and let THAT be the reason!"
Yo...this is not my first time reading ur blog, but it relates to me so much right now. But the questions you may want to ask yourself are do you really like wearing the wristband? Do you want to take your current one off? Are you ready to even go clubbing again?
What is your address. I will send you some scissors!
Damn, that was sad. I felt it.
Interesting.
Some people put on a new wrist band while the old one is STILL on! LOL!
;-)
Some analogy...i got a story or two myself but looking to see how it all ends up for you. Good blog you have here
What do you do, when its not a wristband, but instead its a tattoo on the wrist?
At the extreme case, i guess their are ways to take care of that one too
Interesting. I thought I posted on this already. Guess not. I got so many dam wristbands in my dam draw stuffed in the back lmao. Dam I guess i got a lot to come back to lol. I need a new post punk. I'm waiting. I know you been busy
Ya Boy X
Chile, they still using wrist bands at the clubs? I wouldn't know because after I got saved, I stopped going to the clubs. Now, I still dibble and dabble, but me and my girls get together at the house to sample the goods. Halleluyer...
