I'll Be Taking My Own Glasses
As many hotels as I have stay in while working, I have never even thought about this. It makes me appreciate the Hampton Inn. They only use wrapped plastic cups!

I saw that video last week just before taking a trip to Nashville this past weekend. I never touched the glasses the entire time.
I used to work in a hotel. Its the process in which all is cleaned. Its a shame really but there needs to be a better way...

That shit is so freaking nasty. If my sister heard about this she would die a thousand deaths. She has always told me that no matter what a hotel looks like it really is nasty, and she was right.
Yuck.. thats just another reason I do not like hotels.
took waterford tumblers last year and left them in the room...Eating/drinking out, was the only option:)
Man, each of you have good points and you are absolutely correct hotels are nasty no matter how clean they appear. I have worked at hotels and believe me when I tell you " Some guest can be very nasty." The housekeepers do their best to clean each room in a timely manner, but no way can a room be throughly cleaned in such a short time frame. I was in Guest Services, but often made rounds with the housekeepers to evaluate rooms and man I have seen some nasty shyte! I clean my own rooms when I travel even use the guest laundry to do my own linens. Never use anything other that sealed plasticware, glasses etc.
It is frightening to think about the cleaning methods some hotels have; I nearly passed out when I viewed the video, in the past I have used the glasses in the past and it reminds that I glanced at the housekeepers cart and there was no clean dishpan and come to think of it where was the mop water...hell no tell me they do not use a towel to mop with or toilet water.
When I think of the number of hotel glasses I've drank out of, just makes you want to vomit. I'm glad you posted this.
